I regret to announce that the Covid 19 pandemic has made it necessary to close my massage studio indefinitely. My role as primary caregiver to my father, who has COPD and diabetes, makes it vital that I proceed with abundant caution. I have restructured my business to do house-calls for existing clients. I'm unable to take new clients at this time. UPDATE: June 26, 2020 All services for existing clients only. Due to the current surge of Coronavirus cases in our area, I am suspending the service of house-call massage. When the surge has been effectively reduced for at least a full 2 week period, according to CDC guidelines for reopening, I will reattempt this business model, and reach out to book sessions. I thank you for your patience and understanding as I cope with the challenges of caregiving in a pandemic. In the meantime, I would be happy to give you whatever support I can through self-care consultations by video chat, telephone or text. The path to wellness always moves through water.
The metaphor of WATER in Chinese Medicine: Water energy holds firm its course in life, refusing to fret over setbacks or worry about past defeats. It is fearless and directed -- it knows where it is going, and it has the intelligence and inner drive to get there, similar to the way a river flows around a boulder rather than try to remove it. Every action Water takes, even the nonaction of pooling up and reserving strength, is filled with potential and readiness to continue onward toward the goal. Yet Water knows its limitations. When obstructions block the way, Water yields by retreating, refusing to waste energy in vain pursuits. When danger threatens, Water remains true to its basic nature, knowing when to pool up and reserve its strength, and when continue on with force and determination. When the time is right, Water does not hesitate, but follows its course with strength and purpose. May we all have the wisdom of Water in these critical times. May we know the courage of patience. Never underestimate the power of Gentle Waters.
